Mechanical Seahorse

The Mechanical Seahorse was a piece I originally started as a rough sketch to try out how my pencils would draw and look over the top of a watercolour splashed background. As I joyfully pottered on with my sketching not only did I learn that drawing over the watercolour paint had a nice gritty texture to it which I enjoyed shading over, but my sketch became an intricate illustration of organics and mechanics, a combo I love letting my creative mind let loose on. I later revisited this piece, painting it a little smaller than the original with watercolours. See; Steampunk Seahourse
