Rule 63

Rule 63 is an internet fandom rule stating that for any fictional character there must be a corresponding opposite gender character to match. If that male or female version of a character doesn’t already exist, it is our responsibility as artists to create that character with our art.

These are my creations…

Friends of Dorothy

Friends of Dorothy is a personal favourite of mine. The concept behind this piece is to swap the genders of the main characters from the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy became the little farm boy with his dog and his female companions. I thought a little spin on the iconic red slippers would be a nice touch and boots just went with the farm boy look well.

Kasey Jones

Casey Jones from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was always one of my favourite characters as a kid. I liked his nonchalant coolness, badass attitude, but also his slight vulnerable nature that slips through the cracks of his tough guy exterior. Plus he looked cool. I knew I could make Casey into a Kasey and I had a lot of fun doing it.
